Herman Tsinga lost his life after collapsing during a Gabonese first division game in Libreville, local media reports.
According to The Union daily newspaper, the 30-year-old who plays for Akanda FC went to ground in the 23rd minute against Missile FC.
The Gabonese striker received a cardiac massage by a military doctor, but gave up the ghost on his way to hospital.
A video posted on Twitter showed how Tsinga collapsed on the edge of the center-circle as players panicked before the medics arrived.

The Union also claimed that neither of the two ambulances on ground had oxygen mask to increase the chances of the player's survival.
Tinga's death marked the seventh in the history of Gabonese football.
The match between Akanda FC and Missile FC was part of the second round of matches in the league, eight months after they found a new sponsor.
