Group says Buhari's re-election will enhance rapid growth in maritime sector

- A socio-cultural group has said the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari will enhance rapid growth in the maritime sector and the economy at large

- The group identified as Bring Back Buhari Maritime says Buhari's re-election is a vote of confidence from Nigerians

A socio-cultural group, Bring Back Buhari Maritime (BBBMCG), has said the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari for second term will enhance rapid growth in the maritime sector and the economy at large.

Uchechukwu Aniezechukwu, the national chairman of BBBMCG, said this in a statement in Lagos on Monday, March 4.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the group comprises of Odua Maritime Group, Igbo Maritime Group and Arewa Maritime Group in the maritime sector.

Legit.ng gathers that Aniezechukwu congratulated the president, saying his re-election demonstrated the belief of Nigerians in the administration, especially in its efforts to re-shape the country’s ailing economy.

He said: “Buhari deserves a second term based on his performances in the critical sectors of the country’s economy including agriculture, security, infrastructural development in the transport sector, rail sector, oil and gas sector, ICT sector and maritime sector.

“His re-election is a vote of confidence from Nigerians to continue with his economic diversification agenda programme."

Aniezechukwu said that the administration’s effort in fighting corruption, creating jobs for graduates through N-Power, social intervention schemes like Tradermoni, among other initiatives, had impacted positively on the country’s economy.

He said that Buhari’s second term would be critical in unifying the country in terms of peace and unity as well as instilling investors’ confidence in the Nigerian economy.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Buhari Youth Organisation (BYO), Lagos state chapter on Sunday, March 3, organised a victory party to celebrate the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

The state coordinator of BYO, Abdulwaheed Odunuga, said the celebration was to appreciate and thank Lagos electorate for voting Buhari.

The celebration tagged “Appreciation 2019: Thank You for Voting Buhari and His Team’’ had in attendance members of BYO across the state and many residents.

Odunuga said that Nigerians had spoken, especially Lagos electorate, saying that Buhari’s re-election was a renewed call to service for the president and his team.

The BYO coordinator said: “The purpose of this party is to say thank you to Lagosians and Nigerians and also to appreciate them. It is also to tell the people that this government needs our support.

“The people have indeed showed the love they have for President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo by re-electing them. We are motivated by this overwhelming support of Lagosians.

“We thank the youth, women and others who cast their votes in support of Buhari on Feb. 23. We would appeal to them to do it again on March 9 when we shall be voting in Governorship and House of Assembly Elections.”
