A little boy born in a hospital in Tokyo has broken the record for being the tiniest baby in the world.
The infant who was born in August 2018, was delivered by an emergency C-section at Keio University Hospital in Tokyo.
As reported by BBC News, the baby had weighed 268g (9.45oz) at the time of his birth. He was also so tiny that he could fit in a pair of cupped hands.
Most premature born babies sometimes do not survive but in the case of this infant he was eventually nurtured to good health.

The doctor who treated the child, Takeshi Arimitsu, reportedly told BBC that he wanted to prove that even very tiny babies can be treated well at the hospital.
Takeshi said he wanted to show that "there is a possibility that babies will be able to leave the hospital in good health, even though they are born small"
The child who has grown to weigh about 3kg is now able to feed normally.
According to Keio University Hospital, the infant’s mother had been worried that he would not survive but she is glad to see he is now fine.
She said: "I can only say I'm happy that he has grown this big because honestly, I wasn't sure he could survive."
The record for the tiniest baby in the world was previously held by a boy born in Germany weighing 274g.
This is good news.
