Liverpool bounced back to winning ways in the Premier League following their impressive 5-0 victory over Watford at Anfield on Wednesday, February 27.
The Reds, who are hoping to end their trophy-less run this campaign, were held to a goalless draw by a depleted Manchester United side over the weekend.
A result that threatened their title chase as defending champions Man City continued to mount pressure on them.
Meanwhile, it took Jurgen Klopp's men nine minutes to find the back of the net in this meeting and the goal came from Senegalese forward Sadio Mane.
Eleven minutes later, the attacker increased the Reds tally with another superb strike with his two assists coming from Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 20th minute.
As the first half of the meeting ended in favour of the home team who went two goals in the first 20 minutes of the encounter.
