Presidents of Ghana, Niger and Senegal have called President Buhari to congratulate him few minutes after the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the 2019 presidential election result.
In a statement signed by the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, the presidents said his re-election was a demonstration of the confidence Nigerians had in him.
The statement reads: "Minutes after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him winner of the 2019 elections, three Presidents from the West African sub-region sent congratulatory messages to President Muhammadu Buhari.
"They are President Nana Koffi-Addo of Ghana, Mahamadou issoufou of Niger, and Macky Sall of Senegal, who himself just won re-election for a second term.
"The Presidents felicitated with President Buhari, saying his re-election was a demonstration of the confidence Nigerians had in him, and wishing him greater exploits."

Legit.ng earlier reported that INEC officially declared President Buhari of the All Progressives Congress as the winner of the 2019 presidential election, defeating Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party with over three million votes.
Mahmood Yakubu said the duty of the INEC is to conclude and collate the presidential result for final declaration.
