Nuhu Ribadu, the director of field operations of the President Muhammadu Buhari campaign organisation, on Wednesday, February 27, described the re-election of the first citizen of the country as a reward to Nigerians.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ribadu said this in Yola, the capital of Adamawa state, that Nigerians sacrificed their time and energy to vote in a free and fair election and were rewarded with a man committed to selfless service.
“As director field operations of a successful candidate, I will first of all congratulate our candidate; a good and honest man has been reelected and Nigeria will continue to change for better,” Ribadu said.
The former EFCC chairman urged opponents of Buhari to accept the outcome in the spirit of sportsmanship as he added that everyone participating in Nigeria’s democratic process was a winner.
“No winner, no vanguish, Nigeria is the winner,” Ribadu said.
Legit.ng earlier reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress as the winner of the 2019 presidential election, defeating Atiku Abubakar of the PDP with over three million votes.
Mahmood Yakubu said the duty of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is to conclude and collate the presidential result for final declaration.
He said on the problem of accredited voters not adding up to number of voters, Yajubu said the problem affects less than 2 per cent of voters and thus does not affect the general conclusion.
The director-general of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Chief Osita Okechukwu, also declared that the secon-term victory of President Muhammadu Buhari will guarantee uninterrupted development of critical infrastructure in the country.
