Atiku Abubakar who is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has defeated President Muhammadu Buhari in the presidential election held in Delta state on Saturday, February 23.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday, February 26, declared Atiku the winner of the poll in the state.
The former vice president scored 594,068 votes to defeat Buhari who polled 229,292 votes. There were few incidents in 11 local government areas involving 87 polling units due to non-use of smart card readers and minor violence.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the Delta state chapter of the APC on had alleged that there was massive rigging in the just concluded presidential and national assembly elections which was held in the state on February 23.

The party was asking the INEC to cancel the election due to the alleged rigging. In a statement signed and made available to newsmen by the Director General (DG), Delta state APC campaign council/Great Ogboru campaign organisation, Honourable Timinimi George, the party called for INEC to cancel results from all the troubled local government area in the state.
