Breaking: Atiku Abubakar wins presidential election in Taraba state

Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won the presidential election in Taraba state following the official collation of the result in Abuja by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Atiku defeated his closest rival, President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress in the state. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s candidate polled 374,743 votes, while Buhari scored 324,906 votes.

Out of the total 1,777,105 registered voters in the state, 777,105 eligible voters in Taraba state were accredited, while 741, 564 votes were cast.

Valid votes - 712877

Rejected votes - 28687

Total votes cast - 741564

Recall that Legit.ng earlier reported that President Buhari defeated his main challenger, Atiku Abubakar, in the Saturday, February 23, presidential election held in Bauchi state.

Legit.ng also reported that the total number of accredited voters in the state were 1,075,330 and the total number of valid votes were 1,024,307, while total votes cast were 1,061,955.
