The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday, February 26, declared that President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has defeated Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the presidential election in Katsina state.
The All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, President Buhari scored 1,232,133 votes to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party candidate. Atiku polled 308,056 votes in the election.
Valid votes - 1555472
Rejected votes - 63712
Total votes cast - 1619185
There were cancellations in 20 polling units across nine local government areas with registered 12027 voters.
Recall that Legit.ng earlier reported that President Buhari defeated his main challenger and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, in the Saturday, February 23, presidential election held in Bauchi state.

Legit.ng also reported that the total number of accredited voters in the state were 1,075,330 and the total number of valid votes were 1,024,307, while total votes cast were 1,061,955.
