As declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday, February 26, in Abuja, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeated President Muhammadu Buhari in the presidential election in Imo state.
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 334,923 votes, while President Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled a total of 140,463 votes.
Valid votes - 511,586
Rejected votes - 31,191
Total votes cast - 542777
97 polling units affected due to malpractice affecting 63048 voters.

Atiku also defeated Buhari in Edo state in the official collation of the presidential election. Atiku polled 275,691 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress candidate, who polled 267,842 votes.
Recall that Legit.ng earlier reported that President Buhari defeated his main challenger and the candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, in the Saturday, February 23, presidential election held in Bauchi state.

Legit.ng also reported that the total number of accredited voters in the state were 1,075,330 and the total number of valid votes were 1,024,307, while total votes cast were 1,061,955.
