Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has defeated his closest rival, Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state in the official collation of the presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party polled 275,691 votes to defeat the APC's candidate, President Buhari, who polled 267,842 votes.
INEC reported that there were cancellations of the poll in 48 polling units with total registered voters of 42,176.

Total votes cast - 599228

Recall that Legit.ng earlier reported that President Buhari defeated his main challenger and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, in the Saturday, February 23, presidential election held in Bauchi state.
Legit.ng also reported that the total number of accredited voters in the state were 1,075,330 and the total number of valid votes were 1,024,307, while total votes cast were 1,061,955.
