Vinicius says Messi doesn't scare Real Madrid ahead of Clasico showdown

- Vinicius Junior has declared that Lionel Messi does not scare Real Madrid, ahead of the forthcoming Clasico

- The first of the fixtures will hold on Wednesday, as Santiago Bernabeu plays host to the second leg of a Copa del Rey semi-final

Vinicius Junior has waved off a potential threat by Argentina superstar Lionel Messi ahead of Real Madrid clash with Barcelona in back-to-back Clasico showdown.

The Los Blancos is set to plays host to Barcelona in the reverse fixture of the Copa del Rey semi-final on Wednesday and Vinicius told Goal.com that the Galaticos are battle–ready for any antics from their Catalan rivals after playing out a 1-1 at the Nou Camp in the first leg.

“We're ready for El Clasico.

“There's two in one week and we know all football fans look forward to them.

“I can't wait to play in it, it's a very important match. Every player would love to be involved in a Clasico!”

Speaking further, the 18-year-old Vinicius, who has featured in 25 matches for Real Madrid across all competitions, netting four times is looking forward to play a huge role for the Los Blancos despite acknowledging the quality five-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi will bring to the Clasico double-header after his hat-trick against Sevilla over the weekend.

“Messi is always there. He's an incredible player but we aren't scared of anybody.

“We're ready and have the best players in the world,” the Brazilian youngster submitted.

Interestingly, Real Madrid have failed to claim a win over Barcelona in La Liga since April 2016, while the Los Blancos last victory over their domestic rivals was in October 2014.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Barcelona came from one goal down to share spoils with Real Madrid in the first leg of their Copa Del Rey semi final clash at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night.

Lucas Vazquez gave Los Blancos the lead as early as the sixth minute after tapping in a Karim Benzema's pass from close range to earn his side first half win.

The visitors after taking the lead early in the game, they continued to mount pressure on their hosts but all their efforts were unfruitful.
