Chelsea have been hit with a blow as Italian club Inter Milan are reportedly ready to offer striker Mauro Icardi an impressive new deal for him to snub a move to the Premier League.
The 26-year-old Argentine football star has been linked with a move to Chelsea with the Blues said to be preparing a deal to lure the player to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Mauro Icardi has endured a difficult time this season at Inter Milan with the club recently stripping him off the captaincy.
The action threw the future of the Argentine into serious uncertainty with Chelsea planning to explore the opportunity to sign him.
But according to Corriere dello Sport, Inter are willing to offer their talisman £5.6 million per year for another four seasons to stay making him one of the top earners in Serie A.
Chelsea are now expected to recall their top strikers on loan at another clubs as Gonzalo Higuain will be finishing his loan deal at the club when the season comes to an end.
The Blues won't be able to enter the transfer market because of their latest ban, and the likes of Victor Moses and Michy Batshuayi are expected to return.
