President Muhammadu Buhari has departed his hometown of Daura in Katsina en route Abuja, after participating in the presidential and National Assembly elections held on February 23, 2018.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Buhari was seen off at the helipad in Daura by the Emir of Daura Alhaji Farouk Umar, well wishers and relations .
Buhari left Daura at 10am on Monday, February 25, in a presidential helicopter marked NA-541.
NAN also reports that the president was expected back in Daura by next week to enable him to participate in the governorship and state assembly elections scheduled for March 9.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari reportedly defeated PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abaubakar, at the polling unit of ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun state, on Saturday, February 23, 2019.
While the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 87 votes in the presidential election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got just 18 votes, The Cable reports.

Also, reports reaching Legit.ng revealed that President Buhari won his polling unit, PU003 at Sarkin Yara ward A, in Daura local government of Katsina state.
The president scored 523 votes defeating the the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, who reportedly polled just only three votes.
