Just In: Buhari wins Atiku in 10 Kano LGAs

President Muhammadu Buhari has won Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 10 out of the 44 local government areas of Kano state.

Kano is the strong base of the president, however, Atiku pulled a huge crowd during his campaign there some weeks ago as the Sani Abachi stadium venue was filled to the brim, The Cable reports.

But at the end of collation of results by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in 10 Local Government Areas (LGAs), Buhari won them all.

In Tofa local government area, Mohammed Murtala, the returning officer for the local government, announced that the Buhari polled 19,984 while Atiku scored 7,732 votes.

In Madobi, Buhari scored 26,110 votes ahead of Atiku’s 13,111.

At Garun Malam, Buhari gathered 23,810 votes while Atiku scored a low 4,861 votes.

In Kunchi Buhari scored 20,375 and Atiku polled 4,983.

In Gabasawa, Buhari scored 24,420, while Atiku had 6,130.

In Bunkure, the APC secured 7,232, while PDP got 9,528.

In Rimin Gado, Buhari scored 20,589 while Atiku secured 10, 305.

In Karaye local government, the president scored 23,023 ahead of his rival who 8,265.

In Dawakin Tofa, the local government area of Abdullahi Ganduje, the governor, Buhari had 37,417 votes while Atiku polled 6,507.

INEC has, however, announced that the final results will be announced on Monday, February 25 as collations are still ongoing.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported the APC reportedly won the election in Makarfi/Kudan federal constituency in Kaduna state which is the constituency of the former governor of Kaduna state and ex-interim national chairman of the PDP, Ahmed Makarfi.

It was also reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared that Sani Shehu Ladan of the APC got 59,495 votes to defeat Ahmed Hassan Jumare of the PDP who scored 35,126.
