Just In: Police confirm 3 dead in Kogi

The police in Kogi state have confirmed three people dead in the state ahead of the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly elections on Sunday, February 24.

The command spokesman, William Aya, also a deputy superintendent of police, made this known in Lokaja, The Nation reports.

The spokeman stated that two of the three died in Anyigba town and Odolu town on election day, Saturday, February 24.

He also mentioned one police orderly to a senior special assistant to Kogi Governor was also killed by gunmen in Okene, on Friday, February 22.

Recall that Legit.ng earlier reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday, February, 24, announced that an ad hoc staff deployed for election presidential and National Assembly elections in Rivers state is dead.

The chairman of INEC, Yakubu Mahmood, during a briefing with journalists and some international observers including the United States ambassador to Nigeria, Stuart Syminton, said Ms Amakiri Ibisaki was hit by a stray bullet on her return from duty Degema local government area of Rivers state.
