Has Senator Shehu Sani conceded losing his senatorial seat with this single tweet?

Senator Shehu Sani, representing Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, sent a cryptic message on Twitter on Sunday, February 24, which hints that the embattled senator may have, in a veiled manner, conceded defeat.

Senator Sani is seeking re-election to the Senate on the platform of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) after exiting the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) last year.

The outspoken senator has had a protracted battle with Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state, which eventually led to his exit from the APC.

Commenting on the polls on Sunday afternoon, Sani tweeted: “We appreciate every vote we honestly earned and not under anyone’s shadow or inducements in Kaduna Central; We remain unwavering in the defense of the ideals we stand for. We proudly stood tall with our heights and not with the glory of a borrowed high heels.”

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Senator Shehu Sani's move to return to the National Assembly later this year suffered a massive setback as he lost his polling unit to a rival Uba Sani.

Shehu Sani, contesting on the platform of the PRP lost to Uba Sani of the All Progressives Congress (APC), his former party.

Results from votes collated at his Polling Unit 20, Ungwar Seriki ward, in Kaduna North local government saw Senator Sani polling 51 votes against Uba Sani's 236 votes and PDP's 34 votes.
