Just in: Adeyemi reportedly leading Melaye with 20,000 votes for Kogi West seat

- An unconfirmed result said the APC candidate, Smart Adeyemi, is currently leading Senator Melaye in a race for Kogi West senatorial seat

- The unofficial report claimed that Adeyemi is leading the incumbent senator, Melaye, with 20, 000 votes

- However, Senator Melaye was reported to have recorded a massive victory in Mopamuro LGA

An unofficial result by Sahara Reporters has indicated that the senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, may lose his Senate seat to the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Smart Adeyemi.

In its unconfirmed report, the publication claims that Adeyemi, the APC candidate, is reportedly leading the incumbent senator in at least five of the seven local government areas under the Kogi West senatorial district.

According to the report, Adeyemi is reportedly leading Melaye with not less than 20,000 votes, having won Koto and Lokoja, the capital of the state.

Legit.ng gathers that INEC figures, however, indicate that Dino Melaye is leading in Mopamuro community as the electoral commission is set to make the final announcement in Yagba federal constituency today, February 24.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Dino Melaye had won the highest votes in Mopamuro local government area, Kogi West senatorial zone.

Melaye is seeking re-election for second term into the red chamber of the National Assembly, with his toughest rival, Smart Adeyemi of the APC.
