Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic could be out for at least four weeks after picking up an injury during his side's training on Saturday.

The Serbian has been excluded from the Red Devils squad to battle Liverpool in their crunch clash at Old Trafford on Sunday, February 24.

Before his injury, the 30-year-old has made 23 appearances for his side scoring one goal in the process.

According to SunSport, no one knows the nature of the former Chelsea star's injury hours after he sustained it yesterday morning.

Meanwhile, the Serbian is expected to have a scan on the injury next week when the inflammation and swelling has eased.

While initial assessment revealed that the superstar will be out for at least a month, according to ESPN.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will field another player in his position but Matic will definitely be missed during the days he will spend on the sidelines.

Also on the injury list of the Red Devils are Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial facing, but the England winger has managed to recover to make the bench to face the Reds at Old Trafford.

But his French counterpart could not even make the matchday squad as United refuse to risk him.
