Senator Biodun Olujimi representing Ekiti south senatorial constituency on the platform of the PDP has been defeated by the state chieftain of the APC, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, in the election conducted on Saturday, February 23.
Daily Trust reports that Adeyeye of the APC polled 77, 621 to defeat his closest rival Senator Olujimi of the PDP who scored 53, 741.
In the results announced by the returning officer also declared Yemi Adaramodu of the APC winner of the Ekiti south federal constituency having polled 41, 864 to beat Segun Adekola of the PDP who had 25, 707.
Also in the state north, Fasina Abayomi Sunday, the electoral body presiding officer, declared Senator Olubunmi Adetumbi of the APC as the winner having scored 60, 689 to defeat Senator Duro Faseyi of the PDP who polled 49, 209.
Sunday also declared APC’s Olanrewaju Ibrahim winner for Ekiti north 2 federal constituency. He scored 29,388 votes to beat Olusola Omotoso of the PDP who polled 23, 684 votes.

The ruling part has, however, cleared two of the three senatorial districts and two House of Representatives seats in the election while result of the third senatorial district, Ekiti central, has not been declared.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar defeated his opponent President Buhari in the polling unit of the senate president Bukola Saraki in Kwara state.
Atiku garnered 219 votes while President Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 68 votes.
In the senatorial polls, Saraki scored 269 votes to defeat the APC which polled 60 votes while PDP also recorded victory in the House of Reps election with 253 votes to APC’s 53 votes.
