Widespread violence in Rivers state has reportedly reached its peak as emerging report claimed that a member of the National Youths Service Corps was hit killed in Port Harcourt.
According to The Independent report, the unnamed NYSC corps member was reportedly shot when serving as an ad-hoc staff member of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state.
Legit.ng gathers from the report that apart from the corps member, a breastfeeding mother was also reportedly hit by a stray bullet.
An eyewitness said: “NYSC members in Bonny are feared dead. Sporadic shootings, a stray bullet pierced through a breastfeeding mother, others receiving treatments from various degrees of injuries.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that about 15 people had allegedly been shot dead in Rivers state during the presidential and National Assembly elections.
According to report, the victims lost their lives in violence that erupted at Akuku Toru local government area of the state.
