Buhari, Amosun win at Ogun governor's polling unit

- Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state has delivered his polling unit for President Muhammadu Buhari

- The All Progressives Congress scored 50 votes at the unit while the Peoples Democratic Party secured only 20 votes in the presidential election

- The governor also emerged victorious for his senatorial race at the polling unit

The Ogun state governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has delivered his ward 6 unit 8, Itagbangba polling unit in Abeokuta for President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Buhari bested his main challenger, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the unit, Independent reports.

Legit.ng gathers that in the presidential election, the ruling party secured 50 votes at the unit while the opposition party secured just 20 votes.

With 55 votes, Amosun, who is vying for the Ogun Central senatorial seat, also emerged victorious at the unit as his closest rivals - Kayode Amusan of the PDP and Titi Oseni of the African Democratic Party (ADP) - both scored 17 votes respectively.

In a similar development, Legit.ng previously reported that President Buhari defeated Atiku Abubakar at the latter's polling unit.

Wild jubilation broke out following the announcement that President Buhari scored 186 votes to defeat Atiku.

However, supporters of Atiku claimed the former vice president put up a remarkable showing despite losing to President Buhari, adding that the president has always won in the polling unit in nearly all previous elections.
