Unknown gunmen have killed an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and his elder brother in their family home in Asarama community in Andoni local government area of Rivers state.
The party chieftain, Mowan Omowo Etete is a former local government chairman in Andoni local government area of the state.
An associate of the late APC chieftain in the area told Legit.ng's reporter in Port Harcourt on phone that Etete was killed by suspected militants in the area and his body had been taken away.
"As I speak to you we are hiding in the bush for fear of the unknown," he said in a shaky voice.
Legit.ng gathered that the military has been deployed to the area.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, is from Andoni LGA.

Meanwhile, an agent of the PDP was also allegedly shot dead in Rivers state.
According to Independent, security personnel allegedly shot the agent at ward 10, Akuku-Torun local government area of the state.
