Nigerians react to alleged sudden appreciation of Naira to N184 to 1 dollar

Nigerians have taken to social media to express their bewilderment over Google’s search engine result showing that the Naira had appreciated drastically and was now trading at N184 to one dollar.

Thus sudden development was witnessed by Nigerians on Friday, February 22.

Investigation by Legit.ng revealed that the situation was a bug as the Central Bank of Nigeria website showed the currency was still trading at N316 to a dollar.

Some Nigerians said they wished this development was true while others claimed it was a trick by the government ahead of the presidential and National Assembly election.

Ayodele Femi Johnson wrote: “How I wish this is true but I just confirmed from a reliable source in the tech company that is an error. What a good news few hours to the elections.”
