Barely two days to the presidential and the National Assembly elections slated to hold on Saturday, February 23, twelve presidential candidates have expressed their support for President Muhammadu Buhari.
Legit.ng gathered that the special adviser President Buhari on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, disclosed this on Thursday, February 21, to the State House correspondents at the end of the candidates’ closed door meeting with the president.
Adesina said that the candidates have directed their supporters to vote for President Buhari on Saturday, February 23.
He noted that the president received in audience members of forum of presidential candidates and political parties for good governance who endorsed him for February 23, presidential and the National Assembly elections.
"President Buhari receives in audience members of forum of presidential candidates and political parties for good governance who endorsed him for February 23, presidential election on State House on 21st Feb 2019'', he said.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the presidential candidate of the National Interest Party (NIP), Eunice Atuejide, withdrew from the rescheduled presidential and National Assembly elections.
It was reported that Atuejide said in a statement she released on Wednesday morning, February 20, that she stepped down from the election because her race for the presidency was programmed to end on February 16.
Atuejide said she was committed to supporting Atiku Abubakar of the PDP whom she considers a better candidate.
