Neymar to miss PSG's crunch Champions League clash against Man United in France

- Neymar will miss Paris Saint Germain Champions League tie against Manchester United in France

- The Brazilian attacker got injured earlier this year during a cup game and was not available in the 2-0 win at Old Trafford this month

- United will be seeking to overturn PSG's 2-0 goal advantage in Paris for a place in the last eight

- The French giants will once again miss Neymar's services during the encounter

French giants, Paris Saint-Germain, have provided Neymar's injury update ahead of the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 against Manchester United.

PSG are carrying a two goal advantage ahead of the encounter, thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappe and Presnel Kimpembe from the first leg played at Old Trafford.

The French side went into the tie without the services of their striking duo of Edinson Cavani and Neymar.

Neymar has been out of action since sustaining an injury to his metatarsal in January.

And according to the latest update on the status of the injury, the Brazilian star is unlikely to be back until late March or early April.

The timeline effectively rules him out of the second leg of the European competition against the Red Devils slated for Wednesday, March 6.

Neymar has since undergone treatment in Paris and Barcelona, with his club now confirming he is heading back to Brazil as he works his way to fitness.

"Paris St Germain again shows its full support for Neymar Jr and the determination he has shown since the beginning of his recovery," the statement said.

The former Barcelona forward will spend ten days in his homeland under close monitoring by PSG's medical department.

His injury is said to be similar to the one he suffered in 2018 in the run up to the World Cup.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Neymar will spend the next ten weeks on the sidelines due to the injury he sustained in a round of 16 match against Strasbourg on January 23.

In an official statement released by Paris Saint-Germain, the main man will be out of action until April, which will be a huge blow to their Champions League campaign this season.

Strasbourg midfielder Moataz Zemzemi kicked the 27-year-old thrice in quick succession and it is understood it resulted into the metatarsal injury on his right foot.
