- Mesut Ozil has not been a regular member of Unai Emery's starting line-up despite being fit
- Emery's decision to drop Ozil from the squad has been questioned by a section of fans and pundits
- The Spaniard has now asked the German playmaker to find more consistency to break his way into the starting XI
Mesut Ozil has not found it rosy under new manager Unai Emery despite being a regular member of Arsene Wenger's starting line-up following his move from Real Madrid.
The Arsenal play-maker has played just 102 minutes of first-team football since the turn of the year, with Emery often dropping him to the bench.
Ozil's situation at the club has now seen fans and pundits wade into the matter, with many questioning Emery's decision to drop the German from the squad.
The former Real Madrid midfielder failed to make Arsenal's squad that suffered a 1-0 loss to BATE Borisov in the Europa League, with the club claiming the star player was taken ill ahead of the encounter.
Speaking ahead of his side's second leg tie against BATE, the Arsenal boss asked Ozil to find more consistency for him to force his way back to the starting line-up.
"The key is in his hands. He is working very well this week," the UK Metro quoted Emery.
"He needs to be available consistently for training, without the injuries, without the sickness. Without that we cannot see the best Mesut with us," he added.

Emery disclosed he has had a private chat with the German and informed him what is required of him.
However, it still remains unclear if the Spaniard will start Ozil during the Europa League clash at the Emirates.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has explained that Mesut Ozil's lack of form this season for the Gunners is because of the big £350,000-a-week contract he signed at the club.
Ozil has not been impressive this season for Arsenal in all competitions and there have been reports that current manager Unai Emery wants him to leave Emirates stadium.
