Elections 2019: Osinbajo to storm Ilorin for door-to-door campaign

- Yemi Osinbajo is expected in Ilorin to continue his door-to-door campaign for President Buhari's re-election

- Supporters of the party in Ilorin have been asked to come out in large numbers to welcome the vice president

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is expected to be in Ilorin on Thursday, February 21, to continue his door-to-door campaign for the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates.

Olorin Adebayo, the coordinator of field operations directorate of Buhari/Osinbajo project called on the people in the state to come out massively and give the vice president a warm welcome, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

He said: “We are calling on Kwara residents to come out en mass to receive Nigeria’s number two citizen as they did last week when the president visited the state.

“The last time the vice president was in Ilorin, he was equally received by a mammoth crowd. We must repeat that feat, the people should troop out to receive the Vice President.”

The coordinator also appreciated the leadership of the party for considering Kwara for the vice president's campaign visit.

In his words: “We shall reciprocate this very kind gesture with our votes on Saturday.”

Recall that Legit.ng earlier reported that Osinbajo on Wednesday, February 20, solicited support of the Hausa community in the southwest for the re-election of the president and other APC candidates in the zone.

Osinbajo, who made the plea at a town hall meeting with the community in Ikeja, Lagos state, said that some former leaders did not like Buhari because of his stand against corruption.
