Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has been named in the English Football League team of the week after an impressive performance for Middlesbrough over the weekend.
The 31-year-old joined Boro on a free transfer after his contract with Chinese Super League side Tinajin TEDA expired last year.
However, after just four matches to his short term deal at the club, the Nigeria international has already won the heart of the club's fans to himself.
The supporters took to social media after their 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers over the weekend to praise the former Chelsea star.
Britt Assombalonga scored the only goal that handed the visitors maximum points after the fixture.
And after the match, Boro's fans chanted Mikel's name, saying: "We've got Mikel, John Obi Mikel, I just don't think you understand, he is the man, the African Zidane, he is John Obi Mikel."

The Nigerian midfielder has now made the shortlist for the team of the week after showing the quality he was made off in the game.
EFL official website explains the star's inclusion in the list, saying: "Mikel has quickly become a fan favourite at Boro, and it’s easy to see why on the latest evidence.
"The travelling fans sang his name throughout Sunday’s win at Blackburn Rovers, as the midfielder showed his class."
Meanwhile, Mikel Obi shared the pictures of his twins rocking Middlesbrough jersey in what looks like the midfielder's living room.
