On Saturday, February 16, Nigeria's 2019 presidential would take place. The candidates who believe they have the ability and strength to make Nigeria into a great country have been campaigning for votes.
In Nigeria, the idea of gender equality has not really set into the hearts of many people. There are still some who believe that women cannot do most of the things men handle in their day to day activities.
Despite the fact that a woman, Oby Ezekwesili, had shown interest in running for president before she dropped out of the race, many Nigerians still believe that a woman does not have what it takes to become president.
In an interview with BBC, Nigerians shared their thoughts on what it would be like for a woman to run for presidency or become president.
Many of the interviewed believed that women are not fit to take charge of the country. They stated that Nigeria is too tough for a woman to handle and lead properly in the right direction.
According to most, there is no woman that is tough enough to handle the political atmosphere in Nigeria. They believe that women are too fragile for the type of politics Nigerians engage in.

Others, however, noted that women are born to be in the kitchen and they are to take care of their family not to rule. Another Nigerian stated that women cannot handle power because of their ego.
