As 2019 general elections draw nearer, President Muhammadu Buhari has been getting promises from different quarters, who have vowed to deliver certain number of votes for him as Nigerians cast their ballots.
The latest of these promises is coming from the director of women and youths Buhari/Osinbajo Presidential Campaign Team, Wole Aboderin, Daily Trust reports.
Legit.ng gathers that Aboderin on Wednesday, February 13, vowed that his unit would mobilise 10 million votes for President Buhari's re-election.
According to him, youth and women benefitted a lot from the president's projects under the Social Investment Project by which many of them were engaged.
He said: “The youths understand that Buhari is laying a foundation for a better Nigeria and this must be sustained for the next four years."
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a group identified as Nigerian Traders For PMB (NTFPMB) charged their members to mobilise their households, neighbours and friends to support and vote for President Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming presidential election in order to exceed its 10 million vote target.
The decision was reached at the NTFPMB leadership meeting held in Abuja.
A statement sent to Legit.ng by the national coordinator of the group, Prince Paul Ikonne, indicated that traders were reminded that based on the achievements of Buhari ranging from road infrastructure, security of life and property and most especially the Trader Moni initiative among many others.
The group coordinator said there was need for the president to be re-elected for second term in order to consolidate on his achievements.
Ikonne said: “PMB is a trader friendly president and as such traders will do everything within the law to mobilise support across board in order to exceed the 10 million votes they promised the president."
The group also frowned at insinuations that the president was shielding corrupt politicians. The group made reference to publications on different dailies concerning Orji Kalu’s N7.2b fraud trial where the judge was quoted saying, “the court would await further directives to proceed with the trial.”
