2019 Presidential Election: With or without Igbo votes, Buhari’ll win - Uba

- The APC senatorial candidate for Anambra South, Senator Andy Uba, says Buhari will win the presidential election, with or without Igbo votes

- Ubah urged the people of the south-east to resist the mistakes of 2015 when the APC was not voted for in the geopolitical zone

- The senatorial candidate expressed his desire for Anambra South to give the president nothing less than one million votes in the forthcoming election

Senator Andy Uba, the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s senatorial candidate for Anambra South, has stated that with or without the votes of Ndigbo, President Muhammadu Buhari will win the forthcoming presidential election by a landslide.

Uba made the assertion while addressing party faithful at a rally in Nnewi on Wednesday, February 13, The Nation reports.

Legit.ng gathers that he urged the people of the south-east to resist the mistakes of 2015 when the APC was not voted for in the geopolitical zone.

Uba said voting against Buhari would not stop him from emerging victorious at the polls, and urged Igbos to cast their votes for the president.

He said if Ndigbo were not seen to have massively voted for Buhari and every other candidate of the APC in the zone, they would have no one to blame.

He said: “It is obvious that President Muhammadu Buhari will be re-elected on Saturday (February 16). Whether you vote for him or not, he will win.

“It is unfortunate that during the last election in 2015, only 10 million votes were recorded for Buhari in the south-east.

“But this time around, I want Anambra South alone to give him not less than one million votes.”

Similarly, Legit.ng previously reported that the Ndigbo Unity Forum (NUF), a pan-Igbo socio-cultural group, urged Ndigbo to vote wisely by voting for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The president of the forum, Augustine Chukwudum, made the call in Enugu.

Chukwudum also enjoined Ndigbo all over the country to come out en masse to vote for a Buhari second term, “so that 2023 will be Ndigbos’ turn to produce the next president of Nigeria.’’
