- PSG stars have now opened the lid on how Thomas Tuchel masterminded the victory
Paris Saint-Germain players have opened up on how club boss, Thomas Tuchel, masterminded their 2-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Champions League.
Two second half goals from Kylian Mbappe and Presnel Kimpembe gifted the Parisians aa crucial win ahead of the second leg of the Round 16 of the competition in Paris.
PSG came into the clash without three of their top players in Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Thomas Meunier.
However, Tuchel managed to come up with the perfect tactical plan to stifle an in-form Manchester United side.
The PSG boss moved Marquinhos further forward from his usual central defensive role, sitting in the front of the back four alongside midfield general, Marco Verratti.
"The coach was important. It's a coach who gives us strategies. He analyses the opponent a lot, their strengths and weaknesses," the UK Mirror quoted Marquinhos.
"He had a meeting before the match that was very important. He began with the defensive side and told us that Manchester United were very strong in attack and that we should not lose possession in midfield, not to make technical mistake," he added.

The tactical decision left United's Paul Pogba harried and frustrated in his pursuit to press forward.
Mbappe led PSG's attack line as a lone striker, revealing after the match the manager had advised him to touch the ball a little less.
"Tuchel told me I was going to touch the ball a lot less. It was difficult because I am learning this position. We know they wanted to score and it was us that did it," the French star divulged.
Meanwhile, Solskjaer has since reacted to the defeat, admitting that the Red Devils will have to invest in quality players in the summer to compete favourably in elite tournaments.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester United's 11 match unbeaten run came to an end at Old Trafford following their 2-0 defeat to PSG in the Champions League round of 16 tie.
Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe were the goal scorers for the visitors as they take two away goals' advantage to the second leg next month.
Meanwhile, Paul Pogba will miss the clash after being handed red card towards the end of the meeting for his challenge on Dani Alves.
