The secret of my husband's success in governance - Aisha Buhari

- Aisha Buhari, the wife of the president has spoken on the secret of her husband's success in governance

- Aisha, speaking to the leadership of the NURTW on Tuesday, February 12, said that President Muhammadu Buhari has remained upright since he assumed office in 2015

- The first lady also said that the president is dogged in his efforts to alleviate the plight of the common Nigerian

Aisha Buhari, the wife of Nigeria's president, who is also the head of the APC's women and youth presidential campaign team, led a delegation to the National Union of Road Transport Workers National (NURTW) National Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, February 12.

The mission of Aisha, who was represented by Retired Brigadier-General Buba Marwa, the chairman of the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the campaign team, was to deliberate on governance with the union’s leadership and how the federal government can alleviate the penury of the masses, Vanguard reports.

The team set up by Aisha also intimated the leadership of NURTW on what the Buhari-led administration was doing to better the lives of Nigerians.

She said that since her husband assumed power in 2015, he has led by example and had beyond doubt been an upright administrator, adding that this is the secret of his success in governance

Aisha said: “The President is up and doing and he had been able to curtail the Boko Haram menace. He has worked, and he is working very hard. By the time his mandate is renewed by Nigerians in the coming election, it will be better for us all.”

On his part, the president of NURTW, Alhaji Najeem Yasin, in his appreciation of the team's visit, praised Buhari for delivering on his campaign promises and bringing the dividends of democracy to Nigerians.

Yasin said: “On behalf of members of the NURTW, we commend Buhari for the good work he is doing, especially with regards to road construction across the country.”

Added to this, the NURTW's boss promised the team that members of the union would support the candidate that deserves their votes on Saturday, February 16.

Meanwhile, reported that Aisha had tasked women and youths of the APC to ensure victory for the party in the forthcoming presidential election.

She made the call on Saturday, January 5, during the launch of the APC zonal campaign rally for the northwest held in Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano. ( -> Same great journalism, upgraded for better service!
