General elections 2019: Comedian I Go Dye rewards 5 Nigerians with N1.8m for promoting peace

The 2019 general elections are fast approaching and several public figures in the entertainment industry, are using their respective platforms, to sensitize their fans about the importance of carrying out their civic responsibility of voting.

A popular Nigerian comedian identified as I Go Dye recently took to his social media platform to reveal winners from a campaign he had initiated to promote peace in the forthcoming general elections.

The campaign which was tagged #istandforpeace2019elections involved several participants submitting video entries in which they had urged citizens of the country to go out and get their voters card. They also charged voters to comport themselves in a peaceful manner during the period of the elections.

In a new post on his Instagram page, the comedian posted a picture of the five contestants that had emerged winners. He added that the winners would be getting a sum of over N350,000 each.

However, in the caption that accompanied his post, the comedian revealed that one of the winners was disqualified as it was discovered that he had used another person’s material for the competition. He disclosed that there was still a spot for another person to win the cash reward.

He concluded his post by lamenting the neglect of promoting peace, adding that those that promote harmony in the country, should be duly rewarded.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously gathered the report of celebrity singer, Adekunle Gold, who had taken to social media to express his concerns over the large turnout of crowd at the audition grounds of the Big Brother Naija reality show. He had charged the youths to channel the same energy towards voting in the forthcoming elections.
