Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi were snubbed as CAF named the best African XI players for the year 2018.

No Nigerian player was named in the team of the year as the likes of William Troost-Ekong, Ahmed Musa and Iheanacho were also ignored by CAF.

The trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Pierre Aubameyang were named in the Africa's best X1 for the year 2018.

Mohamed Salah was impressive last season for Liverpool scoring 32 Premier League goals and also helped his team to reach the final of the 2017/18 Champions League.
