INEC releases sample of ballot boxes, papers ahead of presidential election (photos)

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released sample of ballot boxes and papers ahead of Saturday, February 16 presidential and National Assembly elections.

Legit.ng reports that the electoral umpire made this known on Monday, February 11, through its twitter handle @inecnigeria.

The commission also released sample ballot boxes for the March 2 governorship and House of Assembly elections.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the electoral said it is committed to learning from international best practices to improve the country’s electoral processes.

INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, gave the assurance when he received the Commonwealth Observer Group led by former Tanzanian President, Dr Jakaya Kikwete, at the commission’s headquarters on Monday in Abuja.

Yakubu said observation by international observation groups had helped the commission to improve on its elections.

“I want to reassure the international community that we will always learn lessons from international best practices in ensuring that our elections meet not only national expectations but international best practices," he said.
