Femi Majekodunmi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun state, has predicted a landslide victory for President Muhammadu Buhari, in the presidential election scheduled for Saturday, February 16.

Daily Sun reports that Majekodunmi made the prediction at the weekend, while speaking with journalists on the state of affairs in the country, in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The party chieftain maintained that most Nigerians want the ruling APC to continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to them, stating that the victory of president would be across all the six zones because the love for him is all over the country.

He stated that President Buhari would win convincingly in his stronghold of northwest, northeast and southwest while he would also perform better than he did in 2015.

When reminded of the support former president Olusegun Obasanjo is giving to the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, Majekodunmi described the former president as a renowned elder and world statesman.

He pointed out that his strong vilification in the past of Atiku cannot be changed overnight, noting that the PDP candidate is only strong in two zones and thus no match for President Buhari.

He said: “Former President Obasanjo has seen it all in this country and beyond and has contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria. However, his opinion concerning the presidential election cannot stand but rather be a plus for the president."

While speaking on the situation in Ogun state, Majekodunmi said APC was fully in charge in the state and would go into the election united.

He added that the victory of President Buhari would rub on the other APC candidates in the state most especially the governorship candidate, Dapo Abiodun, stating that the state was fully for the APC as it cannot afford to concede to the opposition.

According to him, “The coming election is a foregone conclusion for APC in the state. From the presidential, National Assembly, governorship to House of Assembly, the party would win everything. Indeed, it would be APC all the way with all the other parties winning little or nothing."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that President Buhari sent a message to Nigeria warning of the danger of allowing corruption to return to the country.

In a statement on Sunday, February 10, the president said he has worked to rid the country of corruption which will allow a system of growth to take place.

Buhari noted that the fight against corruption has been difficult as it has fought back but expressed confidence that good work has been done.
