Asisat Oshoala scores on her debut for Barcelona Women

- Asisat Oshoala has opened her goal account for Barcelona in Sunday's 4-0 win over Rayo Vallecano

- Oshoala joined Barcelona in short term loan deal last month

Asisat Oshoala scored on her debut appearance for Barcelona Women as they thrashed home-side Rayo Vallecano at the Ciudad Deportiva Rayo Vallecano Campo 4 (Madrid) on Sunday, February 10.

Oshoala, who joined Barcelona on loan last month from Chinese side Dalian Quanjian replaced Alexia Putellas in the 62nd minute and scored just 60 seconds later as she benefited from a pass from Kheira Hamraoui before beating Rayo Vallecano's goalkeeper.

And after the Nigerian scored the fourth goal of the game, the Blaugranes controlled the game, and did not allow their host any room to operate but no other goals were scored

Before Oshoala’s introduction Barcelona were leading their hosts by 3-0 after 30 minutes of play with strikes from the trio of Alexia Putellas, Marten and Mariona.

The performance sees Barcelona Women move three points behind the leaders Atlético Madrid at the top of the log.

Meanwhile, the former FC Robo star and three-time African Women's Footballer of the Year winner is expected to mark her home debut for Barcelona Women against visiting Sporting de Huelva on Wednesday, February 13.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Barcelona have completed the signing of Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala on a short term loan deal from Dalian Quanjian until the end of the ongoing season.

The three-time African women footballer of the year underwent medicals at the club earlier today before finally putting pen to paper with the Catalans.

While reacting to the dream move, Oshoala said that Barca are arguably one of the best football clubs in the world, adding that she will be playing with some of the best players in the world.
