The national chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Olu Falae, has quit active politics.
Sahara Reporters reports that the news of his decision to retire from active politics was disclosed on Friday morning, February 8.
Legit.ng gathered that the foremost Yoruba leader cited health challenge as the reason for his decision.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the Social Democratic Party (SDP), on Thursday, February 7, adopted the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, as its consensus candidate ahead of February 16 presidential poll.
It was reported that the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party, however, explained that the adoption did not portend merger with the APC.
Legit.ng gathered that this is even as the NEC suspended its national publicity secretary, Alfa Muhammad, for indulging in anti-party activities.
