Judith Amaechi, wife of the minister of transport, Rotimi Amaechi, says the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) has done more for the south-south than any other government.
Mrs Ameachi made the comment on Wednesday, February 6, during the South South Women and Youth Presidential Campaign, which was organised by the Foundation for Female Empowerment (FEP) and took place in Port Harcourt, The Guardian reports.
Legit.ng gathers that she said: “There are so many things in the south-south that speak for themselves, which Buhari brought to the area. I want to assure you that this region will deliver for President Buhari, come February 16.”
The minister’s wife further cited the east-west road, schools’ feeding system and trains in the state.
In her remarks, Aisha Buhari, wife of the president, who was represented by the wife of the vice president, Dolapo Osibajo, urged youths to shun all temptations to be used to perpetrate electoral violence.
Mrs Buhari implored them to ensure that their votes were counted at the polling units.
The president’s wife pointed out that her husband was interested in women and youth, adding: “That was why the government engaged more in the home grown school feeding programmes, and N-Power programmes, among others.”
She continued: “The present administration is also helping in small loans for business owners, as they are putting together policies to ensure that there is the ease of doing business in the country.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari said Rotimi Amaechi created a problem for him when the latter promised a railway line to link the south-east with the northern part of Nigeria.
Buhari disclosed this during the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally which held inside the main bowl of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
Buhari said it would be difficult for him to convince the Federal Executive Council (FEC) members for the approval of the projects.
