Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra has stated that under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, an additional Igbo state is in the offing.
Obiano made the disclosure at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, Anambra state, during a visit from the Ohaneze Ndigbo, Lagos branch, The Nation reports.
Legit.ng gathers that the governor also expressed hope that the federal government would set aside November 16 as a national memorial day for the late Nnamdi Azikiwe.
Obiano called on members of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo group to remain a sociocultural, non-partisan body with the goal of pushing the Igbo agenda; while describing it as being a united entity.
He, however, regretted the group’s decision to fix a meeting on a day the president was in the state to commission a mausoleum in Zik’s honour; but stressed that he was in good terms with Ohanaeze’s president general.
Obiano reiterated his support for restructuring and reaffirmed his support for the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the forthcoming elections.
