- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done a brilliant job at Manchester United since replacing Jose Mourinho
- Ander Herrera has been in excellent form in recent weeks and has ensured Fred will remain in the subs bench
- Solskjaer has made significant improvements at United but has to do more
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have gone a long way in returning Man United to winning ways since replacing Jose Mourinho on December 19, but there are other issues in the team’s set up that still requires attention.
According to The Mirror, most of the issues Red Devils suffered under Mourinho is now a thing of the past, with squad members improving their performance under the Norwegian.
France World Cup winner Paul Pogba was a shadow of himself under Jose, but has turned into a demi-god, scoring important goals that improved United’s position on the log.
Frenchman Anthony Martial, who was on the verge of leaving Old Trafford has penned an extension, even as United's leaky defence line which needed over £200million-plus to fix have suddenly improved under Solskjaer.
At the last count, one player that has played an important role in reshaping United's defence is Ander Herrera, despite being a midfielder.

The ex- Atletico Bilbao ace according to Sky Sports sources, was one of the top performers in the 1-0 win over Leicester City, claiming the most combined tackles and interceptions executed by a player during the clash at King Power stadium
In addition, Herrera’s excellent display that has seen him one of the best in his position in the Premier League midfielder this season, means he will not play second fiddle to anyone.
Thus it was a major issue for Mourinho as he could not play £52m summer signing Fred with Herrera’s form.
Interestingly, Solskjaer is battling the same issue, but has reportedly informed the Brazilian that his future at Old Trafford is guaranteed.
The Metro report claim Man United interim boss will continue to enjoy Herrera’s game with the hope he suffers no injury.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Fred has posted a cryptic message as his struggles at the club continue.
The midfielder has not had it rosy at Old Trafford since his mega move from Shakhtar Donetsk last summer.
He has often struggled for game time, having started only three Premier League matches in the last four months.
The arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who replaced Mourinho as club boss has neither changed Fred's fortunes.
