Today saw the Pretoria Specialized Commercial Crimes Court granting Shepherd and Mary Bushiri bail at R100,000 (N2.7m) each.
The controversial duo had been arrested on Friday on charges of fraud, money laundering and contravention of the Prevention of Organized Crime Act.
Devout supporters of the couple, largely members of the Enlightened Christian Gathering church, rejoiced when the bail was set.
Legit.ngreported earlier that the Hawks had confirmed the arrest of the pair on Friday, saying in a statement that:
"The Hawks’ case against the pair, concerns alleged offences of fraud, money laundering and contravention of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act. (POCA), committed from 2015, in relation to Exchange Control Regulations related to foreign currency in an amount of 1 147 200 USD."

According to The Sowetan, Mr and Mrs Bushiri stand accused of, among other things, using their private jet to transport R15 million (N402.8m) in cash a month to Malawi, Shepherd's homeland.
