Igbo, Hausa and Fulani residents in Kwara state have pledged their allegiance to the former governor of Kwara state and Senate president of Nigera, Bukola Saraki, and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The communities claimed that they voted the All progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 because of Saraki and are ready to vote the PDP in the forthcoming election.
The Sun reports that the groups announced their allegiance during a meeting with Saraki at his ABS Mandate Constituency Office in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
Leader of the Igbo community, T.N Njoku, said: “We voted for the APC in 2015 because of Saraki. We are happy when you joined PDP. When you were governor we really enjoyed a very cordial relationship with you. For you we will do everything to ensure your return to the Senate. When you were there, you instilled sanity. We want you to continue your good work at the Senate.
“For the president, we will vote Atiku. Atiku and Obi are entrepreneurs and will create job opportunities for our youths. We voted for Buhari in 2015 because of Saraki and this time around we shall vote for Atiku because of you."
