Florentin Pogba, Paul Pogba’s elder brother, has joined MLS defending champions Atlanta United on a free transfer.

According to the MLS side, the arrival of the 28-year-old defender, will help boost Atlanta’s defence line after spells with Turkish club Genclerbirligi

"We're pleased to officially welcome Florentin to our club," said club vice president and technical director Carlos Bocanegra.

"He's a physical centre back who also has the ability to play with his feet. He also brings an immense amount of experience after representing his club and country in various international tournaments and we expect him to compete for playing time on our backline,” he added.

Florentin also spent seven seasons with Ligue 1 campaigners Saint-Etienne after kick-starting his football career with Sedan in France's fourth division.

Interestingly, while Florentin has earned 21-caps for the Guinea national team his younger Paul, claimed the last summer’s FIFA World Cup with France.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Paul Pogba’s brother has revealed that the French World Cup winner was keen to leave Man United due to constant disagreement with Jose Mourinho. According to The Mirror citing Telefoot, Pogba, who was relegated to the sub’s bench in the latter stages of the Portuguese tenure arrived Old Trafford at £89m as the club’s most expensive player.

Pogba has now found his way back into United’s good book under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, netting six times and creating five assists in eight EPL matches under the Norwegian.
