After the competition in Russia, there were rumours going the round Messi would quit the international scene, and has not played in the last six matches for his country following his self-imposed exile.
Reports also claim that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner will be available for the friendly against Venezuela in March.
And now that Messi is currently nursing a thigh injury, he may skip the encounter slated for March 22, with Scaloni insisting he has not spoken with him.
