- The APC national leader, Asiwaju Tinubu, urged Nigerians to come together to get rid of corruption
- Tinubu also said that Nigeria deserves a leader like President Buhari to fix the economy
- The APC leader further urged the people of southwest to vote massively for Buhari’s re-election, saying that the president has executed many laudable projects in the region
The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, February 5, reiterated the need for every Nigerian to put hands on deck to rid the country from the canker-worms of corruption.
The Nation reports that Tinubu also said Nigeria deserves a leader like President Muhammadu Buhari for the economy to grow like other advanced countries of the world.
The national APC leader said this at the MKO Abiola Democracy Park in Akure, the capital of Ondo state at the APC campaign rally for President Buhari’s re-election.
He further gave assurance that the APC would create an enabling environment for businesses to strive and promote industry, commerce and agriculture, which he identified as the strength of the economy of any nation.
Tinubu also reportedly said that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had admitted failure even before the election by their allegation that the APC and Buhari were planning to rig the February 16 presidential elections.
His words: “The PDP claimed that APC was planning to rig election. How can you rig an election that has not been conducted?
“This is a clear fact that the PDP was preparing for failure. The PDP has admitted its loss of the election even before the election is conducted.”
He also urged Yoruba people to support Buhari and vote massively for the APC in the coming elections, saying the present administration has executed many laudable projects in the southwest region, which must be reciprocated with massive votes.
Also speaking at the rally, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state assured President Buhari and the leadership of the APC that he would deliver the state for the party.
He said: “In 2015 when the state was not under the control of the APC we won, how much more now that we are in control of the state?
“President Buhari should go and sleep as he is winning the election by the grace of God.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, said the presidential election scheduled for February 16 will avail Nigerians the opportunity to determine the future of generations unborn.
Onyeama disclosed this on Tuesday, february 5, in Amagunze in Nkanu East local government area of Enugu state in continuation of President Buhari re-election presidential campaign tour of the state.
The minister noted that the current economic hardship in the country was as a result of lost opportunities occasioned by corruption in past administrations.
