- No member of the PDP in Ekiti state has been placed on suspension, the National Working Committee of the party has said
- The party's spokesman said PDP never expelled anyone either or received any information from the state branch to the effect
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the party never suspended or expelled any member of the party in Ekiti state, or has the state chapter informed it of such development.
Kola Ologbondiya, the national publicity secretary and director of publicity, made this known in a statement he issued in Abuja on Monday, January 4, Tribune reports
The PDP presidential campaign organisation also buttressed the statement as it added that no member of the party in the state was placed on suspension by any arm of the party at whatever level.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that the election tribunal sitting in Abuja unanimously struck out the case of the PDP governorship candidate in Ekiti state, Olusola Eleka and upheld Kayode Fayemi of the APC as a duly elected governor of the state.
Recall that the PDP, and its candidate in the Ekiti July 14 governorship election, Prof. Olusola Kolapo, had approached the tribunal to challenge the outcome of the election.
Reacting to the judgement, the PDP expressed confidence that it would be overturned at the Court of Appeal.
