- President Muhammadu Buhari has been asked by a socio-political group to stop blaming the PDP for his administration's failures
- The group also said the strategy of Buhari in shifting blames to past governments will not give him victory in the coming elections
- SNPM said Buhari has never done anything to provide solution to the abject poverty Nigerians are facing
A socio-political group, the Southern Nigeria People’s Mandate (SNPM), has asked President Buhari to quit blaming the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for all his failures in the last four years of his administration.
SNPM also said the incessant blame strategy of Buhari and his careless failure in his government will not guarantee him victory in the forthcoming election, The Sun reports.
The group, in a statement signed by its president, Augustine Chukwudum, said Buhari should stop hanging the failures he caused with his governments on past administrations, especially those between 1995-2015.
He said: “Everybody knows that the PDP-led federal government failed Nigerian masses despite all the billions of dollars generated from oil. The PDP-led federal government has nothing to show for the oil boom and failed to impact positively on the lives of Nigerians.
“We wish to remind President Buhari that while he was campaigning ahead of the 2015 presidential election, he promised to better the lives of the suffering masses; he never promised us hell as we all are seeing today.”
The group also said Nigerians are living in dire poverty and hunger, yet Buhari-led government has not done anything to provide any solution to the economic crisis.
“Today, the majority of Nigerians go to bed on empty stomach, yet, all our president is telling us is that he knows our suffering and not doing anything to alleviate them.
“Today, Nigerians are wondering whether Buhari is in charge or a cabal is controlling the government. A lot has been said by Buhari but nothing has changed.
“Instead, we are moving from the frying pan to fire. Price of goods are sky-rocketing on daily basis and our economy is now out of control and very soon one USA dollar will be exchanging for N1,000 if President Buhari is re-elected for the second term.”
